How much does a website cost?2016-10-13T11:43:39+10:00

There are three main costs involved in setting up a website. They are:

  • Domain Name Registration
  • Web Hosting
  • Website Design & Development

Domain Name Registration

Domain names are quite inexpensive to purchase. I can register a .com or .com.au domain name for you for only $13 a year.

Web Hosting

You need a space to host your website. This is where all your website files sit. I can provide web hosting for your website for $97 per year, or $170 for 2 years.

Website Design & Development

The cost of designing a website depends on many factors, including how many pages you want, if you need a logo designed, if you have web graphics for your pages, if you want to be able to edit the site yourself, and if you need an e-commerce website. So the price can vary greatly. My rates are $50 an hour.

How long will it take to design my website?2016-10-13T11:43:39+10:00

A website can take anywhere from one week to one month, depending on how much information and content I receive from you. Ideally, you will know how many pages you want, have an idea of how you’d like your site to look (layout, colours), have a logo and web images for your pages, and your response time is fairly quick.

Will we need to have a meeting to discuss the website design?2016-10-13T11:43:40+10:00

In the majority of cases a meeting isn’t necessary. Most of my websites are completed with contact via email and telephone only. Even via Skype. I place suggested website designs onto the Internet in a private place where only you and I can view the content. I then liaise with you regularly to discuss the design to ensure that the website design and functionality is exactly the way you want.

Do you do eCommerce/Online Store websites?2016-10-13T11:43:40+10:00

Yes I certainly do. For businesses that don’t have a physical shop it’s an ideal way to get your products and services out there. And even if you do have a shop, more shoppers than ever check a store’s website before heading out to the physical location.

Are there any ongoing costs?2018-08-08T11:07:05+10:00

The two ongoing costs of a website are website hosting and domain name registration. Both need to paid for annually (except for .au domain names which are paid for and renewed every 2 years). If you require an eCommerce website you may also need an SSL Certificate to secure your ordering pages – this needs to be renewed annually.
